We’re having an inaugural event in April and one of the main fundraisers will be children’s desks designed and built by some fantastic local designers/woodworkers, to be auctioned off.

The idea, one desk supports one child for a year.

I really enjoyed collaborating with a client to keep getting more unique, more quirky, and just plain more fun.

The girls now have plenty of nooks and hiding places which will change in usage as they get older.

Thanks for the experience.

They wanted me to “feminize” my dining chair, while making it more minimal.

The challenge was that my work tended to be a bit on the masculine, oversized, and not delicate.

We spent three weeks going back and forth.

In the end it came down to the bottom of the back leg with the slight return.

Slightly more feminine.

Five weeks after finalizing design, a truck pulled up with the 110 chairs.  See Projects entry.

This is the sort of design I love

There’s something in these photos I want to Translate into a table.

Over time, this idea will sink in.

Can I still take credit.

I think so.

It’s a rare and great situation when you find a place, and a landlord that allows you to fabricate, display and live all in the same neighborhood.

It’s hard not acknowledge the effect of being harbor side for so long has had on me.

And yet Tribeca could be nice too.
